What I Loved in November

What I Loved in November

Another month has come and gone which means it’s time for a roundup. November was a busy month with some BIG changes! But I still made sure to take time to appreciate the little things too. That’s what I love most about these monthly posts – the opportunity to reflect on all the highlights, big and small. Let’s get started with What I Loved in November, shall we?

New Hair

November New Hair

If you’re a regular reader you might remember that a few months ago I finally took the plunge and had some of my hair dyed BLUE! Well, I’ve been enjoying it so much that when it came time to either have it done again or dye over the colour, I chose the first option. This time my stylist suggested doing a fade from blue to teal to blue again. I absolutely LOVED the result. Definitely one of the best highlights in What I loved in November!

Melted Cheese on Bread

Game changed. Go Home cheese on toast, there’s a new snack in town! Okay, so we all know how delicious a nice soft piece of bread is right? And lots of us out there have a healthy *cough okay, unhealthy appreciation for melted cheese. Imagine combining those two culinary delights? This suggestion comes from my sister via her Dutch friend. I’m not sure if it’s a Dutch thing or just her friend but whoever can claim this delightful snack deserves a gold star. I enjoyed eating this SO much, I didn’t even pause to take a photo. So it’s that good.

Chocolate Guinness Cake

Guinness Cake

In November I decided to host a Sunday Dinner with all the trimming. So, since you can’t have a roast dinner without a sumptuous dessert afterwards I got my thinking cap on. I wanted to make a chocolate cake but I wanted it to be rib stickingly gooey. Somewhere, long ago, I had heard you could use Guinness in a cake to achieve this result and for some reason, it popped back into my head here. Intrigued, I started to look for a recipe…and my luck was in. Nigella had a recipe for the perfect Guinness cake complete with a frothy frosting. As I’ve come to expect with Nigella’s recipes, it turned out perfectly and went down a treat. Plus, it wouldn’t be What I Loved in November if I didn’t share one of the sweet treats I’ve been baking would it?

The Mustards Podcast

Up next on What I Loved in November is Jenny Mustard: a Swedish YouTuber who has become popular for sharing her minimalist and lifestyle videos. But recently, along with her Fiancé, she decided to branch out into a podcast. They cover every topic out there, from the 1% to film suggestions and philosophy. The style is very different from her YouTube channel. Basically, it’s like listening in on a great conversation. I’ve found that I enjoy listening to this when I’m at work recently; what I love most about it is that you can tell they have lots of fun making it.

Tiny Homes on YouTube

I’m not even sure how I stumbled across this channel on YouTube but I’m glad I did because It quickly turned into a highlight of What I loved in November. If you’ve never heard of the tiny home movement, it’s basically people who have committed to living in a structure that’s under 500 square feet. I know what you’re thinking…that’s a roomy flat in London these days! I’m kidding of course, but there’s something deeply satisfying about seeing how people have managed to compress an entire house into such a tiny space. My favourite so far is a tiny house belonging to an adorable couple who decided to put a PIZZA OVEN in their small space!

My New Job!

The final update on What I Loved in November is a big one! I started my new job as a Copywriter! For the longest time I’ve wanted to make the moved from content marketing to copywriting and in November it finally happened! I’m working for a University and so far it’s been a really great experience. Of course, moving from the Tech Industry, a field I’ve worked in since graduating what a change but I feel refreshed and ready to tackle new challenges. Plus, it feels great to finally say I’m a copywriter.
